In light of the recent bushfires that have devastated the homes and lives of many Australians it is now, more important than ever to ensure that every measure is made to protect properties. Fire and council authorities recommend and in bushfire prone areas specify that ember proof mesh be installed to cover guttering and other openings around buildings in an effort to reduce the fire risk of airborne burning embers.

The Australian Standards AS3959-2009 /AMDT 2011 minimum requirement for all Gutter Guard is that it be “non-combustible” and where an Ember Proof Mesh is required it must have apertures no larger than 2x2mm.
